Privacy Policy

BusinessVilla is operated by BusinessVilla. For privacy questions or requests, email hello@businessvilla.in.

• Account details: your name and email address, and a password (stored only in scrambled/hashed form). If you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from them.
• Optional profile details: phone, company, address, city, country and postal code, if you add them in your profile.
• Your work in the product: searches you run (the search text, how many results you asked for, and the results), leads, notes, tasks, expenses, transactions, bank or cash accounts and payment, receipt and transfer vouchers you save in Books, customers and suppliers with their ledger entries, and stock items with their movements, favourite tools, tool history and your export/download history.
• Payment records: when you buy a membership, Razorpay processes the payment. We store the order ID, payment ID, plan, amount and status. We do not receive or store your card, UPI or bank details.
• Sign-in cookies: small files that keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies.

Some tools (for example the invoice builder) keep a draft in your own browser's storage so it survives a refresh. That data stays on your device and is not sent to us.

The website, SEO, domain and email-list tools send the address or list you type to our server only so it can read the public page or public DNS records on your behalf. Those entries and results are not stored. These tools respect each site's robots.txt and never read private or internal addresses.

When you run a Business Data Collector search, the tool gathers information about businesses (such as name, address, phone number, website, ratings and, where available, an email address or social links) from publicly available web pages. We store the results in your account so you can view and export them. This information can include personal data of individuals. You are responsible for using it lawfully; see our Terms.

• To create and secure your account and provide the tools you use.
• To process payments and activate or renew your membership.
• To apply plan limits (such as monthly searches and exports).
• To send service emails: password resets and payment receipts.
• To answer support requests and to detect and prevent misuse.

We do not sell your personal information.

We use these service providers to run the site. They only receive what they need for their role:

• Razorpay: payment processing.
• Resend: sending service emails.
• Neon: database hosting.
• Google and GitHub: optional sign-in.
• Our server hosting provider.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it or to protect our rights and users.

We keep your information while your account exists. You can delete your account from your account settings, which removes your profile and the work saved in it. We may keep payment records for as long as the law or our accounting obligations require.

You can update your profile at any time. Under applicable law, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may have the right to access your data, correct it, have it erased, and raise a grievance. To make a request, email hello@businessvilla.in from the address on your account. We will respond within a reasonable time.

Passwords are stored hashed and the site is served over HTTPS. No online service can promise perfect security, so please use a strong, unique password.

BusinessVilla is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

If we change this policy in a meaningful way we will update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you.
